Three decisions for the designer

Everything below is evidence for these. Settle them first and the rest follows.

1

Which blue is the vibez blue?

The source comments name one pair of blues, but the values the app actually renders are slightly different.

Secondary, as commented#4080FB

2

Which component family is the standard?

The app has two sets of buttons and inputs with different heights, borders and corners. They sit side by side below.

3

How far should tenant branding reach?

When a school brings its own brand colour it replaces only the primary colour. Secondary stays vibez blue, so the wordmark gradient becomes school colour to blue. The school’s name also replaces the wordmark text.

Today: vibezprimary + secondary

Scope note
vibez is available first to British-curriculum international schools — UK rollout in 2027.

Why this exists

vibez helps your school adopt VBE — working with the school, not against it. For a school to commit, it needs its parents behind it. That's what this is for.

Parents back two things, and nothing else: that the school adopts VBE, and that the PTA runs openly so every family has an equal voice.

What is Values-Based Education? (eyebrow: About VBE)

Values-Based Education (VBE) builds a school's culture, conduct and daily life around a few explicitly agreed, actionable values — commitments developed together by staff, pupils and parents, not rules handed down. It gives the whole community a shared language for how people treat each other.

Callout
It only works when the whole community is involved — especially parents.

The everyday behaviour it changes (eyebrow: Real impact)

VBE doesn't just hang a values poster on the wall. It shifts the patterns that actually harm children day to day.

Bystander passivity → Active bystandersWithout VBE: Watching and saying nothing; laughing along; group silence when someone is targeted. With vibez: “We stand up for each other.” Pupils step in, speak up, and support the person targeted.
Pressure to conform → Honest communicationWithout VBE: Children afraid to speak; mockery of difference; hiding who you really are to fit in. With vibez: “We keep it real.” Protected reporting, space to be yourself, no performance required.

The evidence behind it (eyebrow: Research)

20+ years of researchSchools implementing VBE see consistent improvements in behaviour, attendance, relational trust and academic engagement.
49 studies synthesisedA 2024 synthesis (Chen et al., ‘Trauma, Violence & Abuse’) found teaching bystander skills measurably reduces violence.
Longitudinal evidence baseProf. Terry Lovat (Newcastle University) and Neil Hawkes (VbE International) have built the long-term academic case for values-led schools.

What vibez delivers (eyebrow: Outcomes)

  • A shared values language the whole community actually uses.
  • Active bystanders — not silent ones.
  • Reporting pathways children trust.
  • Children who don’t have to perform to fit in.
  • Measurable improvements in conduct, wellbeing and engagement.

How it happens — from a parent voice to a whole school (eyebrow: The path)

Change starts with parents speaking together as a VOICE — a group of parents backing one shared ask. Here's how it moves from a single voice to a school-wide commitment.

1 · Parents form a VOICEA VOICE is a group of parents backing one shared ask. They join and back two things: the school adopts VBE, and the PTA runs openly so every family has an equal voice.
2 · PTA adoptionAs the voice grows, the PTA adopts the open operating structure — equal voice, the same information for all members.
3 · School rolloutWith community backing in place, the school rolls out VBE across the whole community.

Values show up in how a community behaves (eyebrow: Why it matters)

VBE works on the everyday patterns a school and its community can actually see — how children treat each other, and how the adults respond. The diagnostic measures those patterns so you start from evidence, not assumption.

  • How children treat each other day to day
  • How the school responds when they fall short
  • Whether parents have a real, structured voice

One operating system for the whole community (eyebrow: The complete solution)

VBE works when everyone is part of it. vibez brings all four together — switched on for your community as your school adopts VBE.

Home page variants by audience

For schools — Adopt VBE on evidence, not a hunchBefore you commit, see where your community actually stands. The diagnostic surfaces the behaviour patterns VBE is designed to improve, so adoption is grounded and your parents are already behind it. Points: A baseline read of your community in days, not terms · Parents brought along before you commit · A 10-day rollout, not a year-long programme. What you get — Run the diagnostic: A readiness read on your community before you decide. Adopt in 10 days: The full pack — lessons, PSHE, safeguarding — ready to deploy. Respond with evidence: Safeguarding and incidents on record; embed VBE and show it.
For parents — Your child's school runs on its valuesHow children treat each other — and how the school responds when they do not — shapes your child's day. VBE works on exactly those patterns, and you get a real, structured way to be part of it. Points: A voice that does not depend on attending meetings · Concerns that reach the right place, not a dead end · See the real picture once results are released. What you get — Back the change: Add your weight to your school adopting VBE. Be heard: Back the two asks and stay part of what happens next. Stay informed: The results and what the PTA is doing, shared with you.
For PTAs — Without structure, parents become second- and third-class citizensParents outside the PTA get no information. Parents inside it but outside the inner circle know less than the executive. An open PTA levels that: transparent by default, equal access to information, participation from anywhere. Points: No structure means information lives with a few people · Busy and overseas parents are shut out of the in-person model · Good ideas stall without owners, criteria, or a process. What you get — Five seats, equal responsibility: President, VP, Chair, Secretary, Treasurer — responsibility, not rank. Transparent by default: Voting, decisions, goals and initiatives, visible to every member. Get things done: Rolling agendas, tracked initiatives, formal questions to the school.

How it works
Headline
From “we should have values” to values lived every day.
Intro
Values-based education in four steps — and how vibez supports your whole community through every one of them.
01 Diagnose — See where your community stands. Before you commit to anything, run the free readiness diagnostic. Pupils, staff and parents each answer role-appropriate questions, and you get a clear report on how ready your community is for values-based education. vibez does: vibez runs the survey, protects anonymity, and turns the responses into a readiness picture you can act on. Button: Run the diagnostic
02 Adopt — Choose your values — in 10 working days. The VBE Adoption Pack walks your SLT, teachers, parents and pupils through choosing five values and, crucially, the observable behaviours that make each one real — something a child can do and be held to on any given day. vibez does: vibez gives you the pack, the process, and a place to record the values and behaviours your community agrees on. Button: Get the VBE Adoption Pack
03 Embed — Values lived every day — not a poster on the wall.Your values run through PSHE and lessons, through how behaviour is recognised and addressed, and through the everyday life of the school. The framework becomes the shared language pupils, staff and parents actually use. vibez does: vibez carries your values into ready-to-teach lessons, behaviour tracking, and the tools staff use day to day. Button: See the learning tools
04 Sustain — Everyone pulling in the same direction.VBE only lasts when the whole community owns it: schools rolling it out, parents advocating for it, and PTAs operating well behind it — the three missions vibez is built around. Safeguarding sits underneath as one supporting pillar: when something does go wrong, vibez connects the dots no single person could see alone. vibez does: vibez keeps schools, parents and PTAs working together — and quietly watches for the patterns that matter. Button: See the safeguarding side in action

Values

An example value

One illustrative value, to show how each value is written: a name, what it means, and what it looks like in practice.

We stand up for each otherSilence can let unkindness carry on. Not everyone can act in the moment, so we help each other find safe ways to speak up: say something, or tell a trusted adult. Adults make telling safe and follow it up. Reports made in good faith are never punished. Looks like: A child who invites in someone being left out. A pupil who won't join in a mean joke or a group-chat pile-on. A teacher who calmly challenges a put-down and follows up. A parent who tells the school when something doesn't seem right. Short form for pupils: “Stand up”.
Vision
A school community that is a genuine anchor — a stable, safe, and human place where children can learn who they are, what they believe, and how to treat others — so that when the world asks everything of them, they are ready.
Mission
To develop grounded, confident young people with the values, resilience, and self-knowledge to navigate a fast-moving world on their own terms — and to contribute meaningfully to it.

Participation that fits a real life

A school's culture is shaped by who shows up. That doesn't mean showing up to everything — it means knowing where your voice counts and using it there. Thirty minutes a term, used well, changes outcomes.

Exploring (under 40%)You're at the very start of the journey — and that's a genuinely good place to be. The biggest wins in values-based education come early, when leadership names a clear intention and the community gets to help shape what matters. Nothing here needs to be perfect first; it needs to be shared. A guided first step will give you quick momentum.
Building (40% to under 75%)You've already laid real foundations — there's commitment and some good practice to build on. The opportunity now is consistency: turning values into agreed behaviours everyone recognises, and making them visible in classrooms, with parents, and in pupil voice. A structured rollout will help you join the dots into one coherent culture.
Ready to adopt (75% and over)You're in a strong position. Values are understood, leadership is behind them, and your community is involved. Adopting VBE formally will give you the shared language, the embedding rhythm, and the simple way of measuring impact that turns strong culture into lasting culture. This is the moment to make it official.
